Well, this is me combineing some of the techniques of the gnomon dvds.

First I do a thumbnail marker sketch. I use digital water color to quickly block an idea out, maybe not even an idea, I did this for a while till I figured out what I wanted then I came to this. Then I use a scratchboard tool to find my character in the blobby mess. This was from JP Targets dvds. They are awesome.

I blow my image up to 3k and “light box” my image and do pencils overtop. I acctually damaged my pencil pass which I’m really pissed about. I unify the design with stronger shapes and add details. Steven Platts comic book penciling dvd. Tottaly awesome.

For the value rendering I combine soft and hard brushes. I got this tip from Sasha. I paint a shape then shade with a soft brush. I also add more details here. I try and focus on the material.

So right now I have a background I’m doing for this to make it finished then I will move on to color.
The Ioapathieanea dolichocephalus. A creature of the planet Etheeniakala. Also known as the most useless creature in the universe. It serves no purpouse, produces its own food and because of its unique defense mechanism, the "Iopath" has no natural predators. Its 6 eyes allows it to see any natural predators approaching. THis tirggers it to expose its nerve bundle. It communicates that the migratory group might be indanger so all Iopaths reveal their nerve bundle. Together they empthiccally transmits apathy. The Miragia has been dubbed the sand hunter for its ability to voluntarily shed its skin revealing a layer of skin that makes in invisible to all forms of detection. It only has this ability when in extremly dry and hot environments.
